A short Story: Rich Dad Poor Dad
Once upon a time in the Rampur village in India,
there were two friends named Ranjeet and Yuvraj. Ranjeet's dad was Mr. Kapoor,
a school teacher, and Yuvraj's dad was Mr. Sharma, a businessman. Ranjeet
called Mr. Kapoor "Poor Dad" and Mr. Sharma "Rich Dad."
Poor Dad Kapoor always told Ranjeet to study hard,
get good grades, and find a safe job. He would say, "Beta Ranjeet, if you
study well, you will get a good job and earn money." Ranjeet worked hard
in school and did his homework every day.
Rich Dad Sharma, on the other hand, told Yuvraj
different things. He said, "Yuvraj, you should learn how to make money
work for you! Invest in things that will make more money." Yuvraj was
curious and wanted to know more.
One day, Ranjeet and Yuvraj went to play in the
park. They saw some older kids selling nimbu pani. Yuvraj asked Rich Dad
Sharma, "Papa, why are they selling nimbu pani?" Rich Dad Sharma
smiled and said, "They are learning how to make money work for them. They
bought lemons and sugar, made nimbu pani, and are now selling it. They will use
the money they earn to buy more lemons and sugar, and make even more nimbu pani."
Ranjeet was confused. He asked Poor Dad Kapoor,
"Papa, why don’t we sell nimbu pani too?" Poor Dad Kapoor replied,
"No, Ranjeet. We should focus on studying. A good job will give us
money."
As Ranjeet and Yuvraj grew older, Ranjeet followed
Poor Dad Kapoor's advice and got a job as a teacher. He worked very hard but
always worried about money. Yuvraj followed Rich Dad Sharma's advice and
started a small business. He made mistakes, learned from them, and slowly his
business grew. Yuvraj had money to buy things he liked and even helped his
friends.
One day, Ranjeet asked Yuvraj, "How do you
have so much money?" Yuvraj said, "I learned to make money work for
me. I invested in things like businesses and houses that give me more money.
You can do it too, Ranjeet!"
Ranjeet thought about it and decided to try. He
started a small side business and slowly learned how to make money work for
him. He realized that both studying and learning about money were important.
And so, Ranjeet and Yuvraj both lived happily ever
after, sharing what they learned with others. They knew that with a little bit
of knowledge and hard work, anyone can make their dreams come true.
